Saving time in development and debugging with fuzz testing (Tomáš Lach, Luigi’s Box)

We will show a case of using the fuzz testing technique, which we used in Luigi’s Box to streamline the further development of the existing Elasticsearch plugin. We replaced the original lengthy search for problematic inputs when indexing real data by obtaining such inputs using Fuzzer. We will describe its operation, structure, generation of random inputs, the way we validated the output and how we fixed the problems.
